As soon as we got into the building, we each started experiencing things. A few of us had dizziness and were lightheaded. One of us had goosebumps because he had the feeling of cold on the back of his neck which continued throughout the whole investigation.
We set up the stationary cameras in the upstairs children’s room and the hall leading into the upstairs office area. As we were setting up one of the team members went upstairs to get a feel for the place. As she was up there she saw a flash of light. She asked a team member that had come upstairs to secure the video camera if he had taken a picture of her. He didn’t have a flash camera. This was caught on video. That flash was also seen on the children’s room camera and surprisingly the adjacent room slowly went dark after the flash. There are no dimmer switches in the building.
We broke up into teams and went into different areas of the house. While in the basement the first team took a couple really incredible pictures of ecto forming. The team in the barn and yard experience the feeling of being watched and smelled pipe smoke in the back yard. Mr. Allen, who lived in the house for many years, was a pipe smoker. He was cremated when he died and his ashes were scattered in the backyard. It is believed by the staff that he makes his presence known by the smell of his pipe smoke.
At one point in the kitchen we smelled pipe smoke and one of the team members experienced a burning sensation on her shoulder which also left a red mark. Maybe Mr. Allen was trying to gain our attention. The team upstairs experienced the chandelier swinging in the front room where some vintage clothing is on display. As the swinging motion was noticed, the team members that were going to enter the room backed up and let the team member with the video camera enter the room first. As he filmed the movement, another member used his dowsing rods to detect the energy. The moving rods were also caught on this video. After the chandelier moved the team went into the attic where they experienced a rocking chair moving by itself. As the team members were up in the attic stairway, the chandelier began to move again. It caught one of the team members by surprise and she let out a scream, when one of the team members in the kitchen heard this, he grabbed the camera and ran up into the room where he was able to catch this on video also.
These are only the key events that happened. The Rindge Historical Society is believed to be a hotbed of paranormal activity by ECTO. We greatly appreciate the opportunity given to us by the historical society members. Thank you.
